Office of the Technical Regulator (OTR)
The OTR website is your first port of call for advice on working near overhead lines and underground cables. The OTR will advise how close you can get to overhead wires and underground cables before you need to have them turned off.

SafeWork SA
The SafeWork SA website provides you with the information and resources you need to keep your work area free from hazards, which will help you ensure your safety, the safety of your contractors/employees, and the safety of the general public.

Dial Before You Dig
If your work involves digging and you think there may be underground cables in the vicinity, visit Dial Before You Dig for drawings of all known underground services in your work area. It is your responsibility to have the cables visually marked onsite, with depths provided, prior to forwarding your Request for Network Access.

How do I know if I'm excavating near underground cables?

Can I use Tiger Tails?

Tiger Tails DO NOT insulate the lines, they are simply a visual marker of the lines. See the document below for more information:

How can I access an ETSA Utilities site?

If you need to access a secure ETSA Utilities area or site, please contact our Network Access Officer on 08 8404 4119.

What if I need to transport a high load?

If you're transporting a high load, please contact our High Loads/Escort Officer on 1300 882 249.

How do I isolate a high voltage service point?

Please call one of our Account Managers on 08 8404 5614 or 08 8404 5912.
